Guild News

October 20, 1998.

 1. We have 2 new members to the ranks of the guild, if they have not yet contacted you, please contact them and make them feel at home here. In our world of the Dragon Corps of Sosaria.

 2. I would just like to point out that, even though you may not show up to the meeting on this Sunday night, at 5pm in Moonglow, you are still responsible for giving me your first installment of the the new guild fees. Also, if you do not show, and cant provide a substantial excuse, then I will have to fine you 500 for not showing up and not handing in your dues. This is not something I came up with over night, Ive been thinking about this for a few days now, and I also ran it by a few of the other members.

3. If any of you have some runes that are marked to some pretty kewl places, then i ask that you make a copy of them and bring them to the guild for the rest of the guild to use whenever possible.

4. The Second Age will be coming out soon. We should really start practicing and making more money as soon as possible, so that we may explore the new lands together as a group.

Meeting topics from October 9, 1998

    1. Leadership: There is the matter os who gets the guild together when I am not around. I feel as if the person who is of the highest "rank" within the guild, ie Highlords or Masters and if none are on then the Knights, should try to get the guild together whenever possible.

    2. Training: As a guild, you should train more often. You should spar, practice other skills and train magery with each other> It would be beneficial to all that participate. Training should be done at least ONE night a week with at least one other member. I will be implementing a requirement of at least one of your primary combat skills to be higher than 80 with at least a 50 in four of your other skills, but the higher the better for all and the more the merrier. I will also require that you have at least a skill of 40 in magery, so that you may recall to the house, or out of any danger you may have run into. If you cannot get a 40 in magery, then I suggest you invest in getting some recall scrolls to use.

    3. Healing: It has come to my attention that healing is a big part of being in a guild. You should be able to heal one another at a  moments notice. Thus another reason for the magery skill of 40. If not using magery, than a sufficiant level of the healing skill. Otherwise, you may use greater heal scrolls when needed. So, in short, you should be equiped to heal each other whenever the guild gets together to do anything, like adventuring or just training and/or minimul magic use.

    4. Meetings: We will be having bi-weekly meetings on Sundays between the hours of 5-6pm eastern standard time (USA). But other than the bi-weekly meeting, I encourage you to have at least one major guild outting a week. Next meeting is October 25, 1998 at 5pm.

    5. Recruits: On the matter of recruits. All members should try a little recruting. We need full time Mages and Archers. Please be on the look out for any possible candidates that may match that profile. You should talk to them, tell them about the guild, tell them the webpage address, and things like that. There is strength in numbers, remember that.

    6. Guild Attire: You should have in your possession a gold cape/cloak and kilt, a tunic (colored to that of your section-blue, green, or red) and/or a matching robe. In your bank, house, or where ever you may store your belongings, you should have about 5 sets of guild clothes. This is so that you have them in case you may somehow perish during your times in Ultima. You are required to wear your appropriate guild attire when in the company of other members, but when you are alone doing your own thing (once in a while) you do not have to wear the attire. In the spirit of the guild, it would be in the best interest though.

    7. Guild House: Once a full member, you will have full use of the house, meaning for storage and what have you. If you do use it for storage, than in the chest or bag that contains your stuff, you should place a book there. So that you may write in it to let the rest of the guild know who the things belong too. If you do not have a key to the house as of yet, please see me ASAP. Also, if you do not have a rune to the house, than bing me a blank one in order for me to mark it for you. If you wish to mark, I aak that you don't mark the rune anywhere "near" the house. You should always keep the key and rune in the bank unless coming or going to/from house. But you should always recall if carrying the key. Once you have the key, its your responsibility not to lose it. One more thing, I wish to request that you do not show any possible recruits the location of the house unless you have my permission. For security reasons.

    8. Web Page:

       A. If there is any info that you would like me to post about your characters, please send me an email containing all the info you wish me to post and I will post it ASAP.
       B. I have created a new events calender for the guild, as well as this guild news page. If thou hath any ideas for an event, whether it be for the guild or rather for the rest of the players of UO, please send me an email about it.
       C. If you wish to see anything else included on the webpage, again, send me an email.
       D. If any of you have any medieval pictures saved on your hard-drive, or on disk, please send them to me, so that I may review them and place them on the site if they match a specific page theme.
       E. Also, I am currently creating the Guild History and Guild Mission Statement. If any of you have any ideas that may aide me in my quest for our ultimate history, please send me your ideas. Thanks.
One last thing, but you probably won't like to hear it. It's the matter of a Guild Fee. Since The Second Age will be released soon, I think it would be in our best interest to make ourselves familiar with it. In order to do this we are going to need to set up a Guild Chapter on that side. For us to accomplish this we need supplies and at least another house, but I am Hoping for a two-story house, or a small keep. So, in other words, I am implementing a bi-weekly guild fee of at least 1000 gold coins from each member. But the more you can contribute, our chances of that establishment would be much faster. A minimum of 1000 is due at every meeting, starting October, 25, 1998.
